It's the end of the long Queen's birthday weekend, and the weather for most of it has been lovely, sunny but freezing! It's been very train focused for us and the boys - yesterday we took them to a narrow guage railway, where they had a fantastic time riding on the trains. The highlight was when we got chatting to one of the club members and he let Connor 'drive' one of the trains with us on the back. Connor was so excited, he's been talking about it ever since. Unfortunately we didn't have the camera, so no photos of that. Today we went out to the Glenbrook Vintage Railway, where every weekend they run an old steam train that you can ride on up the 6km of remaining track and back again. It was absolutely fantastic, the old steam engine was beautiful and the boys just loved it. Dad and Connor's friend Angus came along and everyone had a great time. Here are a couple of pics.

A bonus was a couple of vintage pedal cars that were at the playground. You'd still never know Dad was a pensioner!

I did a puppetry workshop through Playcentre a couple of weeks ago, and it reminded me how much I used to love puppet shows. I felt inspired so built a little 'set' and did a show for the children at one of our Playcentre sessions last week. I was so chuffed that they really enjoyed it, and the best part was afterwards when I let them loose with the puppets, they all wanted to use it and made up their own versions of my story. It was very cool.
