Connor had his first sleepover here with his best friend Angus on Friday night. I've never seen him quite so excited for such a long period of time (nearly a day, with the buildup to it all!). Angus came over in the afternoon, and by 5pm the boys had already changed themselves into their pyjamas and brushed their teeth (just before dinner). Managed to get to sleep about 9pm then up again at 6am. We took Angus, Connor and Byron swimming the next morning, which completely wore them out, and they had an absolute ball! Can't believe how quickly he's growing up, now having sleepovers! Sigh...

Couldn't resist putting on this picture of Byron at Playcentre. All his own doing, I walked in from outside to find him dressed like this...

Happy 65th birthdays to Dad and Bob, who both had their birthdays last week. Judging by this photo taken of Dad visiting playcentre the day after, I don't think anyone's told him that he's now a pensioner!!

The nights are drawing in and it's starting to feel cooler, I've been wearing three layers in the evening even though it's still probably relatively warm - we were really spoilt with such a hot summer this year! A couple of days of rain saw us conjuring up some inside activities, some photos below:

The boys made 'robots' out of cardboard boxes, and spent ages painting and decorating them.

A trip to Kelly Tarltons was a highlight recently (for those overseas, it's an underground aquarium where you walk through tunnels surrounded by fish, rays and sharks. They also have an emporer penguin enclosure). Connor has become rather obsessed with penguins, after seeing the animated movie 'Happy Feet'. When we told him we were going to see some real penguins, he was extremely excited, and we spent a lot of time in the little car going round and round the penguin area.

A very successful rainy day activity was making sock puppets, then being chased by them!

Making cupcakes for Lily's mum's birthday. I still look after Lily two days a week, she has become a bit like a little part-time sister to Connor and Byron, they all play really well together.
