Today's quote from Connor, after being told to stop doing something he shouldn't be:

'When Mummy was my age, she did naughty things too!'.

After recovering from our unsuccessfully stifled laughter, we were quite amazed at his apparent understanding of me having been his age at some point. Is this anything to do with you Dad???

This summer has been stunning! With such amazing weather and our garden starting to look good what better time than to buy some outdoor furniture! We've really been enjoying our al fresco dining, the photo below from our first BBQ a few weeks ago with Dad and Paul.

Fun in the sun at Long Bay last weekend

Bruce has been off work for three weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, which has been great. We've had lots of family outings as well as getting some things done around the house and lots done in the garden (although our list seems to be getting longer instead of shorter!). We are off to Pauanui (in the Corommandel) for a few days to stay with Bruce's folks, who have a permanent caravan there. The boys will love it, as we'll be pretty much at the beach the whole time, fingers crossed for good weather! Here are a few photos from the past couple of weeks...

Byron demonstrating his football skills. We are constantly amazed at how well he can kick - he's very accurate and powerful with it. His latest trick is drop kicking the ball everywhere. If there are no balls around he will try to find anything else to kick. Yesterday I found him pulling Christmas cards off the window sill and kicking them around the room, he is rather obsessed!








































We've had a lot of use out of the paddling pool. The weather has been spectacular, so hot for the time of year! The boys have had a great time, and are loving the sandpit too. Out next plan for them is to build a playhouse next to the sandpit under the deck.

Running and being chased are still two of Connor's absolute favourite passtimes, followed closely by leaping off things (in this case the arm of the couch)
