When Connor gets frustrated with me (eg if I don't give him what he wants or give in to his demands), he will sometimes say 'go away mummy' very crossly. One such instance happened yesterday as we were driving home after a big morning out, and I said we couldn't go back to the playground. I got 'go away mummy', then after a long pause (as I laughed out loud and he obviously realised I couldn't go away) he came out with 'mummy get out of the car, I'm going to drive home'. I nearly had to stop the car for laughing, and he thought it was pretty hilarious too...

The boys are both getting very independent these days. Byron often refuses to be fed with a spoon and has to do it himself (he throws little stroppies already, which is quite amusing - Connor never really did that, Byron's quite strong willed). He is actually very good with the spoon though and manages to get pretty much most of it from his bowl into his mouth. I do give him a lot of finger food now though.

Connor now wants to take himself to the toilet and I often get 'stand back mummy'! if I happen to hover too close. I quite often have to be completely out of sight or I get told off! I'm actually very proud of him as he will announce that he needs to go, then take himself off to do it all on his own. They are growing up quickly...

ONE TODAY!!!

How can Byron be one already?!! Bruce took the day off work, and as it was raining we spent the morning at a huge indoor playground, which they both really enjoyed. Here are a couple of snaps of the birthday boy...

He wasn't really into opening the presents, so Connor was always on hand to offer some assistance

He got some lovely blocks, clothes and new books...

but when you're one the best part is playing with the wrapping paper!

BYRON'S FIRST STEPS!!!

Yes, he took his first steps yesterday, and I managed to snap a couple of photos this evening. Obviously he's very pleased with himself, and I'm a very proud mummy! It's his birthday tomorrow, so a big week for my (not such a) baby!

Thought I'd throw this one in too - first experience of (washable) felt tip pens
