CONGRATULATIONS DEBS AND DAVE!!!!!!

Friday 23rd February 2007, Bruce's sister Debbie married Dave at Cassells in the Waitakere Ranges. It was a beautiful day, amazing location, wonderful weather and the bride looked absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations to you both and welcome to the family Dave!

The days leading up to the wedding were rather eventful for us. Connor and Byron both had streaming colds, I was rather worse for wear the day before the wedding after getting home after 2am from the hen night and poor Bruce came down with food poisoning two days before the wedding (Bruce was MC and Connor pageboy, so it was pretty bad timing!!!). Thankfully Bruce managed to get through the day and did a great job, and I was very proud of Connor, who managed to get the rings to the best man without being chased! Here are a few pics from the day (sorry there are none of the mother and father of the bride, we didn't seem to have many photos on our camera so will hopefully get some from others later).

Connor on his way down the aisle holding the ring box

Paul filmed the wedding, and Connor was fascinated to see some of the footage played back to him part way through

Byron with his Great Uncle Leo (Bruce's uncle), who came all the way from Toronto for the occasion

Not a very good family photo, but the only one we had on our camera from the day

After a few wines Dad decided to have a go at some of the dancefloor moves of Jack, the thirteen year old son of one of Dave's friends (yes that's Dad on his knees!)

We have had some glorious weather recently. Yesterday we took Nan (Bruce's grandmother, Connor's great grandmother) up to the park for the afternoon. She is such an amazing lady, so sprightly for someone who will be 94 next month!!

Poor Connor has been sick for the last three days, with a high temperature and generally not very well. It's horrible weather to have a fever, as it's been almost unbearably hot and humid this week. We made a trip to the supermarket today mostly so I could hang around in the chilled food section to cool down! Here are a few recent photos...

I'm always amazed when I find Byron on his tummy, as Connor used to hate 'tummy time' and would roll straight onto his back. Byron is the opposite, and seems to really enjoy it - he rolls onto his tummy pretty much as soon as I put him down now.

I put this one in to try and show Byron's hair. I am always getting comments from strangers and people even stop me in the street to comment on it! It's completely natural of course, it's just the way it is but so many people ask me whether I style it - he's six months old for goodness sake, they only need to look at his mother's and brother's hair to see the answer!!! I guess he's just naturally cool...

We went to 'Sculpture on the Gulf' on Waiheke Island today with our friends who live on the island. The Sculpture is a biennial exhibition of outdoor sculpture that is displayed along one of the headland walks, and we had a fabulous time. Connor is exhausted after nearly two hours of walking in the heat, followed by jumping around in the pool afterwards.

The setting for the sculpture was beautiful. One of the early pieces asked us to put on orange hats and pink scarves and become part of the exhibition as we walked around.

Byron managed a power nap along the way

Connor did really well and managed to walk a lot of the track
