We had a playgroup outing to 'Butterfly Creek' today, which has a big tropical butterfly house, a petting zoo and a playground, so perfect for the little ones.

I can feel the baby moving quite a lot now, I wonder if he's going to be as active as Connor (yes I've told everyone else, so might as well publish the fact that we're having another little boy!).

A couple of photos I took today - Connor loves his teddy bears almost as much as his cars and trucks and being chased!

Congratulations Ange and Rick on the birth of beautiful Lily Anne (born on Friday). We went to visit this afternoon and Lily is such a little sweetie. Connor seemed a bit bemused by it all, I'm not quite sure what he made of her!

Weird to think we'll have another little one this size in just over four months!

Connor has taken to walking round the house with remote controls up to his ears, he must think they are phones it always cracks me up whenever I see it.

I'm happy to report that our night away was a great success and we can't wait to do it again! Connor had a wonderful time with Nanna and Poppa, I don't even think he noticed we were gone! We had a lovely dinner out and it was so relaxing having a nice leisurely breakfast and a wander round Devonport (the seaside village where we stayed the night). Thanks to Dad, Pat and Bob for the combined babysitting efforts on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
Had the 20 week scan on Monday and all looks well with the baby. We found out whether it's a boy or girl but had decided to keep it a secret. Now that I know though, that's proving to be very hard and I suspect I'll let slip before too long!!

Bruce and I are having a night away tonight for the first time since Connor was born (we've been out in the evenings etc, but never stayed out overnight). I'm a little bit nervous about it as he's been a bit clingy and not keen on going to bed recently, but Bruce's folks are staying to look after him so I have every faith in Nanna and Poppa! We're going out for dinner then staying at a B&B for the night, so should be lovely. I can feel the baby moving quite a lot now which is very exciting, amazing to think I'm nearly halfway through!

we had a visit from Estella yesterday (our next door neighbour, she's a year older than Connor). Connor was quite happy to share our giant beanbag with her...

...but not so sure about Elmo...

Friday, March 10

We had a wonderful time last week with Neil and Kath, who were over from Portland USA. It's been nearly five years since we last saw them, which seems ridiculous, so it was fantastic to have a big catch up and to spend so much time with Neil (who stayed on an extra three days and stayed with us in our guest room - aka an airbed on the floor of the lounge). The only small problem with their visit was a little mechanical toy named 'Hokey Pokey Elmo', which has been driving me mad ever since I first heard it. Of course Connor loves it so I'm not sure if it was bought more for his enjoyment or to torture me! I will take a photo to post of it soon (for some stupid reason I forgot to take any photos while Neil and Kath were here).

Connor's favourite activity is being chased, and friend Jenny gladly obliged when she visited with her little girl Heidi this week.

For some strange reason getting more proficient with a spoon doesn't mean less mess at mealtimes!!!
